The Fastest Growing Equestrian Sport in Europe

We are affilliated to the World Association for Working Equitation - WAWE

Take a look at the Sport

Dressage Phase

/pages/working-equitation-the-dressage-phase

The dressage phase of Working Equitation is the first phase completed. At a National, which always takes place over two days, this phase will take place on day 1.

At advanced level, the test is completed one handed, and riders need to be at around a PSG equivalent to be succcessful at the top level of the sport.

Ease of Handling

The Ease of Handling phase is the second phase of three. Riders are expected to show harmony and communication with their horse whilst tackling the obstacles.

Speed Round

/pages/working-equitation-the-speed-round

The speed round is fast, furious and a lot of fun.  At the lower levels, riders can go at a speed comfortable for them.  It is of course against the clock.

Cattle Penning (internationals / optional)

This is normally only seen at International Competitions as the final phase.  However we have been lucky enough to run this as part of our National final in 2022 at Oakridge Arena, and previously as a team penning competition as part of The Festival of the Iberian Horse (previously the South West Iberian Show).

On the rare occasions it is seen in the UK, this phase would be entirely optional.

Working in conjunction with Dartmoor Riding Holidays, Okehampton, Devon, we run a yearly cattle training clinic. See the training page.
